Jahwar, Christmas turkey anyone?
Gruelling, if anything was to prepare me for North west AU then today was a good start. The views were spectacular, sadly no exciting wildlife. At times I was cycling up or down lush green shady mountains, mostly it was hard, hot desert. I leaned the lesson today that I need to know the pattern for my destination so I can read the road signs if they appear....
I expected to get much farther than this today, certainly had I found my planned route I would have done, but this is a good intro to the less travelled India. There is a cool Palace here, rarely visited and a Hotel. The Rs400 was outrageous, but I paid it. The bed and curtains are manky, disgraceful, especially at this price but they match the town.
I made friends with a nice guy who owns a shop next to the hotel, he was very eager to help, just a little too eager, but a good lad and I made my first serious stab at getting a sim card, but both the network and servers were down so no Airtel for me.
The following morning I met these two guys heading to Trimbak, they make the journey each year and had done 60km by the time I met them at 11am having started at 5am..... good on you lads.
I did manage a couple of ISD calls when the power came back on after having the most surprisingly good Chinese noddles for dinner thought, it had been so long since I had eaten I was feeling light headed after dinner and went straight to bed not that there was much opportunity to misbehave or have fun in the town anyway.
